Marlow Foods, which makes the Quorn meat substitute, has awarded Norbert Dentressangle six-year frozen warehousing and distribution contract.
Dentressangle is providing storage for some 20,000 pallets and is responsible for distributing around 2,300 pallets each week from its shared-user cold stores at Grimsby and Spalding. The company is also providing re-pack services for 1,100 tonnes of bulk product a year.
Marlow is a division of Premier Foods, whose brands including Ambrosia, Batchelors, Bisto, Branston, Hovis, Mr Kipling, Oxo and Sharwoods.
Before Dentressangle’s appointment, storage and distribution was handled by two third party providers.
As well as delivering finished goods to retailers’ distribution centres, Dentressangle transports bulk, intermediate and finished product between Marlow’s three manufacturing sites at Stokesely, Methwold and Billingham and various third-party co-manufacturing locations.
Dentressangle has invested more than £3 million in systems and equipment, including 14 new tractor units and 24 reefer trailers.
