Ford has chosen NYK Logistics to operate its new origin distribution centre in Budapest, Hungary on a three year contract.
The origin distribution centre functions as a cross-dock, from which NYK provides consolidation and reporting services in close proximity to its regional supply base.
Four workers for the new centre were given a week’s hands-on training at the Prague origin distribution centre, and several of NYK’s Prague employees worked at the Budapest origin distribution centre during its first three weeks of operation.
NYK already has already worked with Ford for five years, as the carmaker’s origin distribution centre operator at Prague in the Czech Republic.
