Royal Mail has bought Gazeley’s 13.27 acre G.Park Strood site in order to consolidate its operations in Kent.
The company will invest in a 181,102.8 sq ft purpose built warehouse incorporating the latest energy-saving measures and sorting technology. The 24 hour facility could provide up to 650 full time and 150 part time jobs.
Royal Mail’s South East England Regional Operations Director, Tom Willis, said that the decision to buy the site would help the company reduce vehicle mileage by some 600,000 miles per year.
Letting agents are Lambert Smith Hampton, Altus Edwin Hill and GVA Grimley.
