Geodis Wilson has selected CargoWise to implement its global logistics product ediEnterprise as the core component of its NextGen logistics management project.
The new system is designed to simplify and automate the operations planning, freight, customs clearance, logistics, operations, billing and customer functions across Geodis Wilson’s global business.
ediEnterprise’s underlying single database, single file and “only enter data once” (OEDO) design claims to deliver transparent information flows and operational efficiencies.
In total, the Geodis Group will be investing 20 million euros into this project.
Hakan Nilsson, chief information officer at Geodis Wilson, said: “More precisely, we were focusing on the future capabilities of different products and service providers, their flexibility and the potential speed of innovation. In other words, we were looking for a partnership that enables us to position Geodis technically ahead of the market, both in the near future and also in the long run.”
