Deutsche Post DHL will finish 2010 having sent some one million GoGreen shipments of letters, parcels and express deliveries – a third more than last year.
In the process, the group has offset more than 50,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide for its customers, compared to 38,500 tonnes in 2009.
GoGreen was launched in 2005 and is now available in 36 countries.
In Deutsche Post DHL’s recently published report “Delivering tomorrow: towards sustainable logistics”, 57 per cent of business customers and 51 per cent of consumers indicated they would choose an environmentally-friendly logistics providers over a cheaper one.
