Office supplies wholesaler VOW has agreed a £10million contract with Gist for managing transport operations in the north of England.
The contract for Gist to operate the existing network across the Midlands, South West and East Anglia has also been extended for a further three years.
Gist will now provide transport services from Normanton, Glasgow and Seaham covering Scotland, the North East and the North West.
The contract integrates into the wider VOW-Gist network. This involves the daily time-sensitive delivery of office products from VOW’s state of the art distribution centres in Lutterworth and Normanton to a number of regional delivery centres across the UK, and onward delivery from there to VOW’s customer base.
The northern operation comprises of around 45 vehicles and involves around 1,000 customer deliveries per day.
The agreement involved the TUPE transfer of around 60 VOW staff.
