Automotive manufacturer Federal-Mogul Corporation has opened a new aftermarket distribution centre in Madrid to service the Spanish market.
The 86,000 sq ft warehouse will serve the entire Spanish aftermarket, and strengthen its position in the Spanish market which currently accounts for nearly ten per cent of the company’s European aftermarket business.
The centre keeps a stock of 35,000 products, will handle approximately 110,000 parts monthly and will employ 63 members of staff.
President and chief executive Jose Maria Alapont said: “Spain has the sixth largest vehicle fleet in Europe and the car parc keeps growing, hence the opportunities in the replacement parts market are significantly increasing.”
