KoamTac has released a linear barcode data collector with GPS capability, which it reckons is the first device to support simultaneous soft keyboard and barcode scanning for scan-intense applications for smartphones including the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
The KDC250 collects location information along with barcode data and time stamps to enhance location based services, such as proof-of-delivery. It also provides a GPS by-pass mode which allows it to double as a GPS Bluetooth receiver.
