Cargolux has warned that fraudsters have been making unauthorized use of its name and logos to represent themselves as employees, agents or representatives of Cargolux or of a Cargolux subsidiary.
In a statement, it said: “These persons use web pages, internet chatrooms and fraudulent e-mails to contact potential victims. They attempt to trick people into sending money and providing personal information such as usernames, passwords and/or credit card details and for the sole purpose of committing theft, identity theft and/or other crimes.
“Cargolux carries out business relationships only with certified/accredited agents and forwarders and not with individual customers. Moreover Cargolux does not solicit, via Internet or other means, payment or personal information in return for goods in transit or in Cargolux custody.”
Anyone receiving a fraudulent e-mail that claims to be from Cargolux, can report it by forwarding it to compliance@cargolux.com
