Tesco is looking to secure a 58 acre site in South Reading for a 700,000 sq ft mega shed to serve the South East.
The company is believed to be in negotiations with Scottish & Newcastle for the disused Berkshire Brewery site at Worton Grange near Junction 11 of the M4 motorway.
Tesco had sought to build an 800,000 sq ft RDC in Andover but was thwarted by a successful local anti-Megashed campaign. Councillors in Reading have expressed their support for the new development which promises some 390 new jobs for local people.
