Gallagher becomes chief executive for Damco UK & Ireland
Damco has appointed Paul Gallagher as its chief executive officer in the UK and Ireland.
He has almost 30 years’ experience within the shipping, logistics and forwarding industry. He began his career with US Lines in 1982, moved to Royal Nedlloyd in 1987, and joined AP Moller – Maersk when it acquired P&O Nedlloyd in 2005.
He has held a number of senior positions in Damco, including tenure of more than 16 years as the managing director of Damco Sea & Air before taking up his last role, chief operating officer for Damco in UK & Ireland.
Kim Hedegaard Sørensen, chief executive officer of Damco Europe said: “Building on the strong organisation in UK & Ireland, Paul will create new and successful opportunities for our customers and us in Damco.”
Jennings hired at Unipart
The monitoring services division of Unipart Security Solutions has appointed Simon Jennings as its Northern sales manager.
Jennings has worked within the security industry for 17 years, and was until recently the control room manager for Cougar Monitoring, having previously worked for the alarm receiving centre divisions of ADT and VSG.
He will work alongside Les Ramsden, sales manager for the South of England, and reporting to Andy Perry, director of Unipart Security’s Electronic Solutions.
The appointment coincides with the official opening of Unipart’s NSI Gold Category II Monitoring & Response Centre.
New director for Redirack
Barry Kirkland has been named Redirack sales and marketing director.
Kirkland has 20 years experience in the specialist construction products sector. Most recently as sales director for a roofing products manufacturer, where he implemented sales and marketing strategies that significantly increased sales turnover.
