Barloworld SCS is launching its latest modelling software, CAST Aurora, with a new multi time period function, which enables companies to not only identify the ideal location for warehouses, for example, but also the ideal times to open and close warehousing facilities, based on seasonal peaks in demand and seasonal falls in supply.
Fraser Ironside, of Barloworld SCS, said: “Technological developments have helped to enhance the software’s capabilities. Scenarios that previously may have taken hours to run through the software, can now be carried out in minutes, in a single sitting.”
Barloworld reckons that businesses can expect 10-15 per cent savings from their supply chain with faster and more complex modelling capabilities.
