UPS is cooperating with a Department for Transport investigation into a fake bomb aboard one of its cargo aircraft travelling from the UK to Istanbul in Turkey two weeks ago.
In a statement, UPS said: “UPS has a multi-layered approach to ensure security. Processes, systems and procedures are designed to protect our people, aircraft and customers’ shipments. In addition, UPS collaborates with security agencies around the world for information exchange, risk assessment, regulatory compliance and preventive action, which provides UPS the opportunity to continually evaluate and tighten its security protocols.”
