Symington’s, the food manufacturer whose brands include Aunt Bessie’s Campbell’s, and Crosse & Blackwell, is investing in an Infor SCM warehouse management system.
Robert Herring, project and development manager, Symington’s, said: “As margins continue to be squeezed in the food industry, it is critical that we identify, and strip out, inefficiencies to provide the right platform for growth.”
“Infor’s warehouse management solution, in conjunction with the experience and expertise of its consultants, will help us to improve our processes to deliver huge savings and afford us greater visibility. This in turn will enable us to direct additional resources into new product development and secure an edge over our competitors.”
It is replacing a number of disparate systems which inhibited stock visibility across Symington’s operations.
The system will be implemented across Symington’s’ four sites, and will support around 2,000 product lines. The first site is expected to go live in July 2011.
