Bibby Distribution has hired John Finn from Yodel, to be its new fleet and procurement director based at the company’s headquarters in Liverpool.
Finn has more than 35 years experience in the industry. In his last role with Yodel – formerly the Home Delivery Network –he was responsible for the integration of more than 8,000 vehicles following the acquisition of DHL’s UK parcel operation.
Finn’s remit will encompass strategies to maximise vehicle availability and utilisation, reduce operational fleet costs and manage cradle-to-grave vehicle assets.
Paul Reilly, divisional director, said: “His track record of slick asset integration, people management and strategic realisation of cost efficiencies make him a very powerful addition to the team.”
The appointment comes at a time of considerable growth for the company, with more than 1,100 vehicles transferred into the business from the 2010 acquisitions of Taygroup, TM Logistics and major contracts from MRS Distribution.
