CeMAT, the giant materials handling show, kicks off in Hanover on 2nd May under the tagline “Sustainability in intralogistics”. Here’s a quick guide to some of the new products that will be at the show.
Axxom
Axxom Software will be showing its ORion-PI Staff Planning & Scheduling software. The software is designed for efficient staff scheduling in logistics centers.
Beumer
The Beumer Group together with Crisplant and Koch Holding will be jointly represented at the exhibition for the first time. In the field of sorting and distribution equipment, the Group will be presenting a Exhibits include the Beumer Sorter BS 7/25/55 BT which the company reckons has 50 per cent fewer parts compared with other cross-belt sorters. It will also be showing the energy-efficient LS-4000 Cross Belt Sorter with linear synchronous motor technology. It will also be exhibiting a Koch tubular belt conveyor.
Bito
Storage specialist Bito will have a new series of heavy duty polypropylene containers. It reckons the 800 x 600 mm container for load capacities of up to 500 kg opens up new possibilities in production, storage and transport logistics. It has also come up with PROmotion, an enhancement to its static pallet racking system PRO. The PROmotion shuttle is a battery operated and remote-controlled lane vehicle to facilitate pallet handling and transport within a pallet racking installation. Another new product is the new standardised Bito braking roller for carton live storage lanes.
Cargotec
Cargotec plans to introduce its first ‘G generation’ counterbalance truck at the show. “We have enhanced the cost-efficiency, quality and productivity of our counterbalance machines resulting in better performance and greater savings,” said VP Thomas Malmborg.
Dematic
Dematic will have a live demonstration of a complete material workflow including a number of new products. Equipment integrated into the design of the in-plant material flow includes the new AKL Rapid Store storage and retrieval devices as well as a Dematic Flex Multishuttle, MCS conveyor technology as well as the new Dematic IT Ecodrive and Rapid Pick order picking station. Dematic reckons the IT Ecodrive permits an additional reduction in power consumption in automated warehouses of 10 to 15 per cent.
Flexi
Flexi Narrow Aisle will be highlighting its new Flexi VNA, which is designed to offer faster, safer work cycles with optimum stability in aisles as narrow 1600mm wide. Instead of ‘pivot’ steering the Flexi VNA’s “true articulation” turning system means that the Flexi VNA trucks require minimal manoeuvring in the aisle ways for faster pallet put-away and picking.
GNB Industrial Power
GNB Industrial Power, a division of Exide Technologies, will be launching the GNB High Power Cell at the show.
Hoppecke
Hoppecke Industrial Batteries will be showing its patented trak air battery system designed to enable forklift truck fleet owners to cut their carbon footprint while saving thousands on battery replacement costs. At the same time, battery temperature levels are reduced by around 10°C and energy consumption is cut by trak air reducing the need for battery filling down to four to six times a year, cutting battery gassing and offering over 30 per cent savings on electricity.
Hyster
Hyster is promising ten new designs for the show including a low emissions Hyster ReachStacker and the H22.00XM-12EC Hyster empty container handler. An LPG version of the compact 8-9 tonne Fortens counterbalance truck will be exhibited, along with an upgrade of the popular H2.0-3.5FT and H4.0-5.5FT Fortens series. For low intensity or medium duty operations, Hyster will launch the new CT-Series of diesel and LPG IC pneumatic forklifts. The JXN range of electric counterbalance trucks has also expanded further with the introduction of the J4.0-5.0XN series. The new Hyster 24V electric counterbalance truck will also be shown for the first time. There will also be a new design of the low level order picker.
Jungheinrich
Jungheinrich will be premiering its driverless transport system — the Auto Pallet Mover which moves around the warehouse independently making it suitable for handling repetitive transport tasks. A new proprietary fleet management system will also be shown – ISM Online. The ERC 212/214/216 series electric pedestrian stacker is another fresh product. And a new electric pedestrian straddle arm stacker will also be unveiled. In addition, Jungheinrich will also announce a range of new reach trucks, electric stackers and diesel and LPG powered counterbalanced trucks.
Knapp
Knapp will use CeMAT to reveal its new concept of free-roaming shuttles – an addition to its OSR Shuttle range. The free-roaming shuttles transport loads without the need for rails and can exit the storage aisles to supply workstations directly. It will also unveil its new ‘Pick-it-Easy’ workstations with three different stations – special solutions for folded garments in the fashion sector and food and retail applications.
Linde
Linde is taking about 60 trucks to Hanover. It says the main attraction will be a new generation of electric forklift trucks in the 2 to 5 tonne load category. There will be 19 different standard-model designs to choose from. It is also planning to show a further twelve technical innovations covering economical energy consumption, high productivity and increased driver safety and comfort in the new electronic fork lift trucks. Also on display will be prototypes and concept trucks, showing the direction that future developments are starting to take.
Nexen
Nexen, will be showing its X- Range of counterbalance trucks at CeMAT. This range combines Diesel and LPG engine versions in load capacities up to 5000kg.
Pyroban
Pyroban is showing its system6000 explosion protection system which is designed to be fitted to a forklift truck to provide audible and visual warnings to the truck operator and help prevent the operator and the site from the danger of an explosion.
SSI Schaefer
SSI Schaefer is launching two new systems the Auto Cruiser Conveyor, a fulfilment and order picking concept and the Order Verifier for automatic checking of order-picking jobs. The Auto Cruiser Conveyor is a new transport system that closes the gap between fork-lift transport and conveyor technology for internal deliveries.
Swisslog
Swisslog is focusing on its portfolio of light goods subsystems, pallet conveyance and storage technologies including the Tornado miniload crane, QuickMove conveyor system, AutoStore item pick storage system and the recently introduced SmartCarrier transport and storage system.
Vanderlande
Vanderlande is demonstrating its item picking with the PICK@EASE ergonomic workstation (goods to man systems) which can handle up to 900 lines per hour.
A fully automated case picking system for retail will also be on display as will the Vision warehouse management system.
Vitronic
Vitronic will demonstrate a range of camera-based auto ID solutions for manual, semiautomatic and fully automatic data acquisition.
