Metso Minerals, Finnish supplier of construction and mining technology and services, has awarded Kuehne + Nagel a contract to run its new distribution centre in Shanghai.
Kuehne + Nagel will be responsible for the planning, implementation and management of the facility. It will also provide value-added services, such as batch management, picking and packing, and container loading for seafreight exports.
The logistics firm has handled international forwarding services for Metso since 2006.
In 2008, Kuehne + Nagel took over the management of its spare parts distribution centre in Tianjin. The 75,347 sq ft facility has a monthly inbound handling capacity of some 1,600 tons.
