Freight and logistics firm Simarco has confirmed it is in negotiations to open a multi-million pound facility in the Midlands.
It is considering several locations across the region to reduce journey times for client shipments to and from Europe. The new site is expected to offer warehouse management facilities to clients in the retail, food and pharmaceutical industries.
The move is also intended to develop its relationship with the Palletforce network, of which it is a member.
During the last 12 months, turnover rose by just under 22 per cent to £22 million.
In the same period Simarco added new overland routes into Turkey and Germany, improved partnership deals in Poland and Belgium, and increased the frequency of deliveries to Spain from twice weekly to daily.
Managing Director Simon Reed said that he expected a decision to be made on the location of the new Simarco facility in the coming months.
