Philips Consumer Lifestyle has extended its contract with DHL Supply Chain for three years. DHL manages the company’s Nordic warehousing at a high security site at Torsvik outside of Jönköping, Sweden.
Philips first hired DHL in 2004 and since then operations have expanded to include consumer products such as domestic appliances, personal care products, and sound and vision. More than 95,000 pallets are handled at Torsvik each year.
The extended agreement means that DHL will continue to be responsible for warehousing activities including intake, storage, transport design, and distribution.
Peter Jangenfeldt, responsible for supply chain at Philips Consumer Lifestyle Nordic, said: “We have high demands when it comes to delivery guarantees and flexibility; it is crucial that our customers’ requirements are met and that volume fluctuations can be dealt with smoothly. The new and modern warehouse environment further enables DHL to align the logistics solutions with our demands.”
