Work is starting on five spec sheds at Eurocentral on the eastern side of Glasgow, following Muse Development decision to award a £7.3m construction contract to Miller Construction.
On Plot F, Vertex (128,731 sq ft) and Apex (71,544 sq ft) will be developed beside the recently completed Zenith and Pinnacle buildings, while on Plot B, three units ranging in size from 4,639 sq ft to 16,932 sq ft will be built.
Steve Turner, regional director for Muse Developments, said: “Despite claims of a ‘volatile’ commercial property market, we have been encouraged by a notable increase in the number of enquiries relating to the speculative units. This, we believe, highlights a boost in confidence that developments of this nature are once again demonstrating their longevity and sustainability in central Scotland.”
Work is scheduled for completion in November 2011. The contract will see Muse’s investment at Eurocentral over the past 12 months reach £54.2m.
