Work has started on a £25 million speculative warehouse development at Barclay Way, West Thurrock, which is being developed by Legal & General Property in partnership with Graftongate Developments, who will deliver the scheme.
Completion of the unit, named Thurrock 162, is set for November 2016. It will have a 13 m eaves height, cross loading, dock & level loading doors off a 53m deep yard. A 17 MVA power supply has been reserved for specialist users such as data centre or cold store occupiers.
James Whitehill, senior fund manager at Legal & General Property, said: “We are delighted to have started construction of this highly specified distribution warehouse unit. It is situated in an under-supplied prime distribution location and as such we are expecting significant occupier interest to drive value for our Client.”
CBRE, GVA Bilfinger and Altus Group have been appointed letting agents.
