Electrocomponents, the distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has recorded a 14 per cent rise in first quarter revenue compared to last year.
In the three months to 30th June 2011, its international business grew by 17 per cent with the UK up by eight per cent. Business in continental Europe grew by 17 per cent.
In the month of June itself, group revenue advanced by 11 per cent year on year, with the international business up 12 per cent and UK ahead eight per cent.
E-commerce revenue grew by around 30 per cent, with its Asia Pacific business reporting e-commerce sales growth of over 60 per cent.
Chief executive Ian Mason said: “With more than half our revenue now on the web we are well on our way to becoming an e-commerce centred business.”
