Developer Bericote and joint partner CalaChem are looking to secure planning for a 497,220 sq ft national distribution centre for supermarket retailer Asda in Scotland.
The mega shed is to be built on the 36-acre former ICI Social Club in Grangemouth within the town’s major hazardous zone not far from Junctions 5 and 6 of the M9 motorway.
The facility will allow Asda to consolidate distribution depots in the area and work more efficiently as it expands stores in Scotland and the north of England.
It is thought that 100 new jobs could be created at the depot.
