The North West Aerospace Alliance, which operates the Aerospace Supply Chain Excellence programme, is expanding with companies coming from as far afield as Newcastle, Sheffield and Leicestershire.
The new members are engineering and strategy consultants Genser Aerospace of Manchester; Preston based professional consultancy Aegis Services and aviation training business Global Air Training, of Tattenhall, Cheshire.
Leicester-based turning, milling, grinding and workholding solutions business Hardinge Machine Tools has also joined, along with HMK Technical Services, the Congleton supplier of drive automation products.
Others include engineering company Metal Spinners Group of Newcastle upon Tyne, along with Sheffield based IT specialists OCF, Douglas, Isle of Man manufacturers Solidstrip Plastic Abrasives and plant and equipment suppliers The Frank Barnes Group, of Darwen, Lancashire.
The alliance is the largest aerospace cluster organisation in Europe, representing a region which contributes over £6 billion to the UK economy, accounting for one third of the UK aerospace turnover.
Chief executive Martin Wright said: “The NWAA is carrying out important work in shaping the supply chain feeding into this industry.
“The levels of interest from companies outside the North West is testament to the quality of our programmes and the work our members in this region are carrying out.”
