Aurora Fashions is expanding its 90 minute courier delivery service for £9.99 per order to five more cities – and Lakeside in Thurrock.
Customers can order goods online and receive them within as little as 90 minutes by selecting this option at the checkout on web sites for its brands such as Coast, Oasis and Warehouse.
The delivery service is supported by internet start-up Shutl, a web based national, same-day courier service.
Shutl aggregates the capacity of local couriers, integrated with Aurora’s own sales platform, to allow Aurora brands to fulfil online orders quickly from local stores, rather than a centralised warehouse.
The new cities are Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, Cardiff, Belfast and areas surrounding the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock.
It decided to go ahead with the scheme after a three-month pilot in London where 91 per cent of orders were delivered in under 90 minutes. The service is already available in Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as across London within the M25.
