DX Networks, the independent mail, courier and logistics company, which specialises in the delivery of time-sensitive, high value items, has improved the sales order entry process of 20,000 documents per week after deploying Itesoft UK’s capture technology.
The system typically achieves savings of 50-60 per cent resulting in a return on investment with in nine to 18 months.
DX routinely handles items including mortgage deeds, jewellery, optical lenses and credit cards, and is the preferred provider of the UK government and foreign embassies for passports and visas.
Previously, DX was manually processing in the region of one million incoming waybills, consignment notes, dispatch notes and collection manifests per year, which meant sorting documents and indexing key information.
The process was labour intensive and time consuming, which DX realised needed to improved to ensure that billable information was processed as quickly as possible to improve cash flow.
Ian Pain, chief financial officer, DX Group, said: “We wanted to streamline our existing order entry process, which was an inefficient manual data entry exercise. We therefore looked to the capture market to provide a solution which could adapt to our existing forms, maximise OCR (optical character recognition) read rates, significantly improve processing speeds and ultimately reduce costs. Itesoft demonstrated an
intelligent and flexible solution to us which met all our requirements.”
Itesoft FreeMindEnterprise is a next generation capture technology which incorporates layers of recognition and classification methods to deliver a knowledge based system.
It has been designed to offer a flexible, scalable approach which can grow with the DX business.
