DB Schenker is launching its first rail freight service to use High Speed 1, the fast rail link from London to the Channel Tunnel.
The service will operate between Barking and Wroclaw in Poland and is aimed at the automotive, retail and food sectors.
The train will be loaded with European sized curtain sided swap bodies. These have an internal height of three metres, allowing two standard pallets can be transported stacked on top of each other.
The first train will depart Poland on the evening of 8th November arriving into the UK in the early hours of 11th November. The train will leave the UK the same day to transport goods to Poland on the return journey.
