BASF has taken the Overall Winner prize at the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2011, after securing the Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Award earlier in the evening.
Arno Bingemann, vice president planning processes at BASF, who collected the Awards, proclaimed: “It’s a great honour.” He said: “I’m a representative of 800 people who have worked very hard for three years to change the company and globally harmonise processes. It makes us proud that the project was so successful and to be awarded for our hard work.”
Industry leader Alan Waller, who took over as international president of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport earlier this year, was rewarded for his commitment to industry with the Individual Contribution Award.
“I’m overwhelmed,” he said. “This is for all the networks I work with, this is collaboration in action.”
The Awards, which are organised Supply Chain Standard in partnership with PwC’s PRTM Management Consulting, were presented at a glittering dinner at the Hilton Park Lane last night (1st November).
