Caterpillar has put off making a final decision about selling its third party logistics business, which was due by the end of 2011, citing the global economy as a factor in the delay.
It is still in talks with interested parties, but it is also examining the possibility of restructuring it as an independent business within its wholly owned subsidiary Caterpillar Logistics.
A spokesperson said: “Given the current market and business trends, we are hopeful that a decision can be reached in the first quarter of 2012.”
