The Highways Agency is to work with the Freight Transport Association on improving warning to drivers – for example with snow and ice warnings for HGVs.
The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on co-operation.
FTA chief Theo de Pencier said: “Both organisations share mutual aims in terms of better serving road freight operators, whether that is about access to up-to-date information or, in the longer term, secure lorry parking provision. With closer collaboration and a sharing of intelligence we look forward to effecting real change for the better.”
