Logistics network operator DX Group has opened a parcel sorting and distribution centre in Warrington to meet demand from the online retail sector for secure delivery services.
The 28,000 sq ft building in the Barley Castle Trading Estate replaces two smaller DX service centres in North Wales and Manchester. £120,000 has been invested in sorting mechanisms on the site, which can now process up to 4,000 parcels an hour.
The new facility will increase capacity for DX’s nationwide, next-day secure delivery service for retailers including Asda and Cloggs. DX Secure provides proof of delivery, a 100 per cent audit trail, where required, and varying levels of insurance.
