Wholesale food distributor Giro Food has chosen Optrak’s vehicle routeing software to plan more efficient routes for its distribution service.
The routeing software will be integrated with Giro’s back office system from Sanderson, to enable it to improve transport efficiency and customer service while reducing distribution costs.
Giro has over 100,000 sq ft of space in Birmingham from which it operates a large fleet of multi-temperature vehicles for frozen, chilled and ambient products.
Javed Sarwar of Giro Food said: “Having reviewed a number of different routeing software systems, we found that Optrak were able to demonstrate how their software could help us achieve this goal, while offering the potential to cut our transport costs and vastly reduce the amount of time required to build efficient and accurate delivery routes. ”
