Intermec has launched two forklift truck mounted computer terminals, reports Johanna Parsons from Athens.
The CV41 and the CV61 were unveiled at Intermec’s EMEA Partner Summit. They are designed to run with Vocollect’s voice technology, and feature an innovative clip-on attachment mechanism.

The new units fix directly to the power supply unit on the truck, clipping on or off without any need for screws or wires. This saves time as well as making servicing and cleaning easier.
The CV41 is a light and compact model, while the CV61 operates like a full blown PC, running Windows XP.
The launch is part of a drive by Intermec to make all of its core devices Vocollect-enabled, following its acquisition of the voice software firm last year.
“We believe voice is a game changer in the warehouse,” said Earl Thompson, senior vice president of Intermec’s mobile solutions business.
Thompson also hinted that the firm is preparing to launch three new printers as part of its vision of 2012 as the “Year of the Printer”.
