Electronics firm Maplin has enlisted internet start-up firm Shutl to provide its customers with delivery within 90 minutes.
The new service will be available to over 60 per cent of the UK’s postcodes within the UK, which will also be eligible to get online orders delivered within one-hour delivery windows from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week.
Stock from 83 Maplin stores is available via the service, with a further 21 stores being serviced by Shutl in the next few months.
Gareth Pownall of Maplin, said: “This new partnership with Shutl will give our customers an even better access to our range of 15,000 products. Maplin is the first retailer to embed the Shutl delivery options within the Checkout process, and with delivery starting from only £5, the service represents fantastic value for money.”
Shutl’s aggregated courier service launched in 2010 and has won contracts with Argos, Oasis, Coast, Karen Millen and Warehouse. It uses couriers to deliver online orders from retail stores, cutting out extended transit times from out-of-town distribution centres.
