Yearsley is launching a global logistics and freight forwarding division targeted at UK food manufacturers.
It extends the group’s current service of domestic port-side collection and deliveries into UK manufacturers, to include overseas road haulage, international freight transport, by ship or by air, and customs requirements.
Tim Moran, logistics sales director, said: “Global logistics and freight forwarding is a complex business and can involved half-a-dozen different organisations from source to factory. This not only allows for cost inefficiencies but can also create a lot of red tape and stresses between the different suppliers. This single source solution aims to eliminate all of that with the provision of a more streamlined, transparent service.”
