Stobart Group’s plans for a depot and parking for 170 HGVs on the site of the former George Clothing warehouse in Magna Park, Lutterworth have been withdrawn owing to technical difficulties.
It is reported that planning officers had recommended the scheme be refused “as part of the proposed development would be outside the existing confines of Magna Park and there were concerns about the potential increase of traffic as a result developer Gazeley withdrew the plans just before the planning meeting.
It is thought the proposals will be resubmitted following further discussions with the authorities. The scheme was expected to secure 100 jobs.
