Belgravium has launched the Boston 8550i mobile computer which offers all of the standard features of the standard 8550 unit, with the added bonus of being ATEX Certified.
This means that it meets the recognised standard for equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
It has a magnesium alloy chassis for torsional strength for the internal circuitry, in conjunction with a high impact resistant polycarbonate outer casing. It is capable of surviving repeated drops to polished concrete.
