IAG Cargo has moved Iberia’s cargo handling into its Ascentis and Premia facilities at Heathrow as part of its integration plan for British Airways World cargo and Iberia Cargo.
All cargo and mail for Iberia flights can now be collected and delivered at the IAG Cargo premises.
Ascentis, IAG Cargo’s 83,000 sq m general freight terminal at Heathrow handles on average 14,000 tonnes of freight a week.
Premia is dedicated to freight requiring special attention, including livestock, mail and premium products, such as Prioritise and Courier.
The Perishable Handling Centre (PHC) handles over 60 000 tonnes of fresh produce, flowers, fish and seafood products every year.
In addition, all Iberia aircraft departing from London Heathrow will now fly from Terminal 5.
Tony Nothman, customer experience and global operations for IAG Cargo, said: “This step further substantiates our claim that we are stronger together and provides our customers with a consistent, quality service across our extended global network.”
