Adams Foods has awarded a three year contract to chilled food and drink distributor NFT to distribute its products, including Kerrygold and Pilgrims Choice.
The contract includes primary logistics services from the collection of stock, to full warehousing and distribution to retailers’ regional distribution centres.
NFT will handle some 14.5 million cases of product each year, around 3,500 pallets per week. It is operating the contract from its Daventry distribution centre, delivering to retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda and foodservice customers within the UK.
Adams Foods’ chief executive, Ian Toal, said: “Our category management and consumer insight teams are at the forefront of the sector driving innovation and helping to shape the future of the dairy industry. Added to this is our relentless focus on continuous improvement and our decision to work with NFT is the result of a shared strategic understanding to drive operational efficiencies and make us best in class.
“Our supply chain is complex and our vision is to ensure we provide cost and environmental benefits while maximising availability for our customers. With NFT’s unique knowledge in logistics capability and their intelligent link between customers and manufacturer, they are a pivotal part of our growth plans.”
