International Airlines Group has completed its purchase of bmi from Lufthansa. It intends to integrate bmi mainline into British Airways.
bmi cargo offers a range of products including general air freight, express, courier and trucking services.
IAG will also acquire bmibaby and bmi regional under the terms of the purchase agreement, and with a significant price reduction. However they are not part of IAG’s long term plans and will not be integrated into British Airways.
IAG will pursue options to sell these businesses and the costs, including the impact of operating them in the short term, are expected to be offset by the price reduction.
