City Link has opened a 72,000 sq ft depot at Chelmsford to replace two smaller sites: Chelmsford North and Chelmsford South.
The site at Atholl Road is 50 per cent larger that the two old depots combined and will provide room for on-site collection and delivery loading and offer dedicated parking for trunking vehicles.
Depot manager Paul Dillon said: “The Chelmsford region has a huge amount of untapped potential and I am looking forward to further growing our business in the region.”
The opening of the new depot is part of City Link’s plans to expand to become a £500 million company in the next five years. The company recently invested £5 million in its customer care operation as part of its plan to embed a right first time culture.
