Planning and urban design consultancy Turley Associates has secured planning permission for a major new distribution and industrial development on a 25 acre site at Evander Properties The Revolution scheme near Buckshaw Village, Chorley.
Permission was granted for two separate industrial/distribution buildings by Chorley Borough Council. Parcelforce Worldwide, part of the Royal Mail Group, is to take one of the buildings to provide a new 110,500 sq ft distribution facility serving the north of England and Scotland, creating 267 new jobs. The first phase of this building is expected to be completed by September 2013. The second building, which is yet to be let, is estimated to create a further 150 jobs.
Andrew Bickerdike, a senior planner in Turley Associates’ Manchester office, said: “The original planning application was made in September 2011 and, working closely with the Council has been amended to reflect Parcelforce’s accommodation requirements to bring this major new employer to Chorley.”
