UK logistics firm Ruck is launching a service to take over and re-deliver loads that have missed their delivery slot, freeing lorries and drivers to resume delivery schedules.
Loads that have missed their planned slot can be dropped off at the firm’s 40,000 sq ft ambient food approved warehouse. The driver can sign off the inventory and return to work while Ruck will store the load and re-book delivery.
It will dispose of any perishable goods if they cannot be booked back in on time.
Ruck reckons European hauliers are often parked up near its facility for days waiting for a new slot.
