Shop Direct Group has renewed its contract with Damco and additionally has agreed to be a pilot customer for the operator’s new Dynamic Flow Control system.
The online and home shopping retailer has used Damco since 2005. Paul Miller, director of inbound logistics, said: “Having worked with Damco for a number of years, we have been consistently impressed by their innovative approach and the value they have added to our business. We look forward to continuing to evolve our relationship over the next two years.”
Shop Direct’s brands include Very.co.uk, Littlewoods.com, isme, Woolworths.co.uk, K&Co, and Brandquarter. Last month it renewed its contract with Norbert Dentressangle for two-man home delivery.
The Dynamic Flow Control system is designed to give supply chain professionals the flexibility to re-plan shipments according to what is important – whether it is delivery date, cost, or carbon footprint – without the complexity and manual workload changing purchase orders normally entails.
