Ronald Lugthart has been appointed managing director of Rotterdam World Gateway, the container terminal on Maasvlakte 2 which will be opened at the end of 2014.
The new terminal is a joint venture between container shipping lines – APL, MOL, HMM and CMA-CGM – and DP World, one of the biggest deep-sea container terminal operators in the world. The capacity of the first phase of the terminal will be 2.35 million TEU.
Lugthart, was previously Director of the Rotterdam container stevedoring terminal Uniport, is in charge of establishing RWG as an operational terminal and of the day-to-day management of the business.
