Essex based logistics firm Claridon intends to book cargo with shipping lines that call at London Gateway in order to cut out road miles.
Claridon manages approximately eight thousand TEU per year on behalf of cargo owners shipping to & from Asia, Europe, North & South America as well as other deep-sea locations.
Managing director Chris Scott, said: “Having a port closer to where the containers need to go means that we can significantly reduce landside haulage costs. There’s substantial savings to be passed on to our customers due to London Gateway’s location, which they will be delighted about”.
