Hannon Transport, based in Northern Ireland is expanding its trailer fleet with 20 new reefers from Schmitz Cargobull in order to meet the operational demands of several major new contracts.
The firm imports fresh flowers and plants into Ireland from across Europe, and reckons the business is growing annually by up to 30 per cent.
The 20 high-volume, European spec trailers are 2.49m wide and 2.7m high, and have Vector 1850 MT refrigeration units from Carrier Transicold, allowing for mono and multi-temperature operations.
The trailers will operate from Hannon’s new distribution centre in Dublin, where they will be used to deliver products to supermarkets, wholesalers and garden centres throughout Ireland, as well as carrying out general groupage operations to and from the continent.
