Bentley Motors has extended its contract with Ontime Automotive for another three years, for the delivery of its prestige vehicles.
The new agreement follows Bentley’s significant 37 per cent sales increase in 2011, with further growth expected in 2012 and beyond, vehicle movements will increase with Ontime handling 17 per cent more deliveries from Bentley’s site in Crewe to its UK dealerships and managing the movement of all cars for US, Russia and Japanese export to the Port of Grimsby.
For the contract Ontime will operate a dedicated service for Bentley with one Rolfo enclosed transporter being used solely for dealer distribution and another three transporters for exports to the Port of Grimsby. These were built specifically for this contract.
The two firms’ systems have been integrated giving real-time vehicle tracking information. This has been enhanced by Ontime’s drivers using electronic proof of delivery.
Paul Allen, vehicle distribution manager for Bentley added, “With Bentley’s global sales continuing to grow, it is vital that we deliver the increasing number of our products safely, securely and on time. Innovation, trust and security are integral to the success of our outbound logistics programme and Ontime has always excelled in these areas.”
