Mercedes-Benz’s new urban delivery van, the Citan, is to go on sale from 1st September.
The company is nhoping to pick up about five per cent of the European market for uban delivery vans which currently totals 700,000 units.
The van has a maximum payload of 800 kilos and cargo volume of 3.8 cu m. Fuel consumption is 4.3 litres per 100km.
The 75hp version will retail for 14,660 euros, while the 90hp version will cost 15,290 euros. “Although other city vans have a lower procurement price, in terms of its total cost of ownership, the Citan is unbeatable,” said Volker Mornhinweg, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.
It will initially be launched in the EU-27 nations, as well as in Norway, Turkey, and Australia.
