Yodel’s chief executive, Jonathan Smith is to leave the firm at the end of the year, although he will work with Dick Stead, who joined as executive chairman on 17th September, through the Christmas peak.
In his role as chief executive, Smith has seen the firm through its rebranding as Yodel from Home Delivery Network, which took over DHL’s domestic parcels business, and its subsequent integration process.
Dick Stead plans to run a smaller executive team, which will report to him by the end of October.
Yodel stated: “Yodel has been transformed over the last 18 months and is now in a sound position with strength across senior management.
“Dick Stead has recently taken up the role as Executive Chairman and will lead the business. Jonathan Smith has decided to move on but will stay through peak, working alongside Dick. The search for a new CEO, as well as a CCO, has started.”
Commercial director Adam Smith will also leave, but by the end next month. He joins chief information officer Greg Smith who revealed earlier this month that he would leave by the end of October.
